Reducing emissions
The Plymouth Plan proposes net zero by 2030 and sets out an approach to manage a range of challenges from using sustainable energy sources, sustainable travel and protecting the natural environment.
Sustainable transport
The current climate, locally, nationally and globally means we require a re-evaluation of how we move, use space and travel. How can we use data and tech to improve air quality, reduce carbon emissions, lessen congestion and improve connectivity?
Air quality sensors
We want to find new ways of monitoring the air quality at a neighbourhood level. How can we use data and tech to create a user friendly sensors and then use and visualise this data to build a picture of the air quality in different neighbourhoods?
Changing behaviour
Litter and plastic pollution
We are Britain’s Ocean City and therefore we need to protect our precious blue spaces from litter and plastic pollution. Our Plan for Plastics has taken a huge step in highlighting the plastic problem but we want your ideas on how data and tech can help change people’s behaviour and provide incentives to reward people who are doing their bit to prevent litter ending up in the sea in the first place..
Carbon footprint calculator
We struggle to track and calculate our own emissions. How can tech and data help us get better at recording our data and help us to engage and encourage behaviour change within the council? Is there a way in which we can calculate our carbon footprint with a competition or gamification?
